Exclusive Agreement with Arrow Electronics Extends Butterfly Software Distribution Network

The agreement was signed in September and is generating great interest from IBM channel partners and end users alike and has already resulted in a number of sales.

Butterfly will provide the analysis and migration tools for backup and recovery exclusively for Arrow’s IBM resellers around the world, through Arrow ECS’ United Kingdom office. The agent-less software provides unprecedented detail to accurately plan the consolidation of legacy and current backup and recovery infrastructures in complex backup environments.

Based on empirical data collected on the customer’s master backup server, the software produces an Analysis Engine Report (AER) that provides a full detailed description of the existing backup environment, together with design recommendations and cost justifications for the implementation of new technologies, capabilities and functionality.

Butterfly also offers automated data migration functionality, thereby reducing costs, mitigating risks and slashing time to benefit the customer. Using Butterfly Software results in a seamless transition to a more capable and effective strategic solution.  The whole AER process can be completed in a matter of days, saving time and precious resources otherwise spent in the development of a long-term backup and archive strategy.
